America, where are thee?
We have strayed so far from free..
Your valley’s echo with voices of old..
Your ground stained with blood of the bold..
Oh America, America, where are thee.
I miss seeing Old Glory fly free.
Your stars and stripes put up a good fight.
Even when those at home lost sight.
Oh America, America, where are thee?
Aren’t you the home of the brave and the free?
Built on the words “We the People.”
Maybe we’re lost; because, we no longer meet under the steeple..
Oh America, America, where are thee?
It’s getting so hard to see.
Does the torch of Liberty still burn?
I thought I saw it; but, it looked like your back was turned..
I’m sorry for what they’ve said about you.
They forgot about the blue, too.
Oh America, America, where are thee?
Remember those who cried and died to be free?
There are still those who love thee!
We exercise the Bill of Rights on the daily!
The governing voices want to divide us, it’s a shame..
Because inside, we all bleed the same!
Oh America,America, where are thee?
They say history repeats itself; but, I don’t want to live under tyranny.
I know there’s been too much blood loss.
To just let them be my boss.
You know, I remember learning American history.
It’s like looking back on a big family tree.
Dysfunctional, I know..
But,we can all learn to grow.
So America don’t go.
We won’t let them run this show.
America, America, there are still those who are willing to fight.
I know they won’t lose sight..
You look tarnished it’s true.
I don’t mind being part of the cleanup crew.
We can start by rebuilding the high places.
So the light will shine in your the low spaces.
Turn around so we can see your torch.
And to let them know, don’t come knocking on our porch.
America, America, where are thee?
